My first destination this summer will be the Rainbow Gathering in Washington. I’ll be leaving in the morning for the open road with two other lovely ladies in tow. The Rainbow Family of Living Light has been gathering in National Forest lands across the United States since 1972, roots formed in the counterculture movement of the 1960’s. The attendees refer to each other as family, and gather to pray for world peace as well as demonstrate the feasibility of intentional community and living harmoniously with the Earth. The nationwide gathering takes place on the first week of July. Other regional gatherings take place throughout the year in many different parts of the world.
